Panic alerts for Departments & Subdepartments with Staff Assignment Rooms
Platform 6.2.2.4.
We have Panic at Department level Group assigned to the same Department name for Panic that covers the one department.
For some Departments we have assigned multiple Departments to an Ordinary Group (not callable) with the two or more departments as Members of that Ordinary group. Then assign multiple Departments with this Ordinary Group so the Panic covers more than one Department.
For Departments with Department level Panic & with rooms assigned as sub-departments in Staff Assignment - if staff assigned to the room initiates a panic does the panic go only to the Panic assigned to that room sub department level or does it use the Department level Panic the room is a member of - or both?
@kenneth.erickson (Client) As long as the main Department (for example, ICU) has the Emergency Broadcast Group assigned, you do not need to assign it again at the room/bed level. Since the room/bed is part of the Department, it will follow the Department-level configuration. In most cases, assigning it again at the room/bed level is not required and may lead to duplicate or unexpected alerts. So, it’s generally best to keep this configured at the Department level unless there is a specific need for a different setup for certain rooms. @kenneth.erickson (Client) - When a panic alert is triggered from a room (sub-department), it follows the main Department’s setup. Even if staff are assigned to a room, that room is still part of a Department, so the alert is sent to the Department’s panic group, not just the room. To clarify - for a room that is a sub-department (ICU Room 1 bed 1), as long at the Department (ICU) has Emergency Broadcast Group assigned to itself we do not require the room/bed assigned it's own Emergency Broadcast Group as long as we have that room/bed assigned to ICU? Is it better practice to not assign the ICU Emergency Broadcast Group to the room/bed or would this be considered additional insurance that room/bed will work for that Department?
